Nortel, Chunghwa Telecom to Build Mobile WiMAX Network in Taiwan

Canada-based Nortel recently announced that it will team up with Taiwanese Chunghwa Telecom and eASPNet to construct Taiwan's first mobile WiMAX (Worldwide Interoperability for Microwave Access) network in Yilan county, leveraging IEEE 802.16e mobile WiMAX technology. Nortel will supply equipment for the network, including base stations and customer premises equipment.
